TBC’s Legislative Agenda for the 88th Session

  1. Consumer Protection / Dynamic Proof of Reserves and Liabilities Legislation - will enable Texas to define industry standards for the nation. Read about it here! PASSED and signed by Governor Abbott

  2. Grid Stability and Bitcoin Mining Legislation - will incentivize participation in ERCOT programs like this one recently published. Track HB 2223 bill here.

  3. Flare Gas Mitigation - will exempt severance tax from formerly flared gas when it is used for on-site mobile data centers (63% reduction in the carbon footprint when a flare is redirected to a generator). Read about it here. PASSED and signed by Governor Abbott

  4. DAO Legislation - will expand opportunities for DAO corporate formation in Texas. Track HB 3768 here.

  5. A proposed time bounded sales tax holiday for Lighting retail point of sale. Track HB 5209 here.

  6. A pilot project for the study of the use of blockchain in land administration and the tokenization of real property to increase liquidity for Texas homeowners. Track HB 5067 here.

  7. Enabling legislation that allows Texas to custody bitcoin or other large market cap asset in the Texas Bullion Depository or similar institution.

  8. A Concurrent Resolution noting Texas’ opposition to CBDCs. Track SCR 25 here.
